7 Reasons Our Relationship Rocks!

(An Anniversary Tribute)

I don't mean to be that cheesy here, but there are some things I do wanna share to the world as a testimony of God's goodness to us. I mean it's only been 365 days of the happiest days of my life! If that's true, what's there to be ashamed about? I realized if God made this such a blessing for us, it could be a blessing for others. So don't be hating, try be inspired and not bitter ok. Here are some reasons our relationship is unique.

1. Perfect Timing
I could truly say that I really, really waited for this girl! I mean, I never waited for anyone so much! Although I've had a crush on her for a while(almost 2 years to be exact), I fought the feeling till it was time to go for it. It wasn't easy as I struggled to hold it all in and it wasn't till last year that I let it out. Just had to wait for the right moment and God's go signal for me to make any moves. It's like I studied her for a while if she really would be it. I watched her grow into maturity in her faith. It was her love for Jesus that attracted me most. She is a person of beautiful face and faith! It took a lot of praying and waiting. Our relationship sure came at the right time. She was also of the right age and we both graduated college. "Wala naman masama dahil dalaga naman siya, binata naman ako". And her parents we're ok with it. Speaking of that….

2. Family's Approval
On the day it was time, I went and made my first ever 'paalam' or asked permission and expressed my intentions to her parents. I was nervous because I never did this before, but in the end, it was successful! So once I got their blessing, the rest just fell into place. I became real cool with them.
We became like a barkada and we'd even go on double dates! As for the rest of the family, they're alright too. It's rare, but everyone in the family is cool with us and each other! I know everyone in mine loves her. Family is important to me and so my mom's approval of her was really awesome and we all know moms approval aren't easy to get.

3. Friends' Approval
Aside family, a lot of other people are happy for us too. It seems our whole youth group pa nga. Boto! Except for some who may have been bitter or at first maybe due to some reasons. Friends were already teasing us and telling us before that we'd make a good couple. Of course, we didn't really believe that at first, but now, are they kidding? We make a great one!

Thanks everyone for the support of our love team!hehe. Please keep us in your prayers ok ;)

4.We Are a Team!
We should get jerseys! It's crazy how we have so many things in common and yet we are opposite! I being the loud mouthed talker being the DJ that I am, she being the shy, quiet secretary type. But I'm so glad God and the ministry is something we have in common. At church, we work together in the program of our youth. Before it became us, I saw how active she was in the ministry. This is the girl that was not gonna keep me from doing ministry, but team up with me in it! What a suitable partner. My encourager. She also helps with my schedule and savings.

And we never really fight . I'm not saying we don't. There are times my tempers flare and her girl monthly cycle comes. But she is hard to fight with! One thing I'm thankful about her is how she isn't a nagger or quarrelsome otherwise, I better prepare to live on the corner of the roof someday! I'd do anything for her. I believe she's the only girl that could make me wear pink!

5. Our Stand in Purity
That's right, it's sexual abstinence for this couple and not just that, we're even saving our first kiss for the altar! We are saving it all for marriage. Yes there's temptation, but we never allow ourselves to be alone or in a situation where we could fall. We know our limits and surround ourselves with accountabity. We choose to make this stand for purity and we fight to keep it. May not be easy but with God, it is possible!

6. We're Just so darn in Love with Each Other!(This is just plain obvious and self explanatory :p)

7. But…We Love God more than each Other!
I guess that would be the secret of success and key to any relationship. That means we put God first, above each other. Not allowing the relationship turn into idolatry. If God isn't glorified in this relationship, then we shouldn't be together! We will not become a weakness to each other or the ministry. We understand that we are not a perfect couple. I mean we still have our flaws. But with God, we are unbreakable!

So today we celebrate 1 year. God is so awesome in writing our love story. I never thought it could be this sweet. I know I don't deserve this. I just really praise God for everything. What we have is a real gift. Happy Anniversarry & Merry Christmas Ricci Luna! I Love you! God bless us :D

MY STRENGTHS

AT THE COMPANY/ORG I'M WITH, THE STAFF WAS RECENTLY GIVEN A BOOK CALLED "LIVING OUT YOUR STRENGTHS" & THEN REQUIRED TO TAKE AN ONLINE TEST(http://sf1.strengthsfinder.com) TO HELP FIND OUR STRENGTHS. BELOW WERE MY RESULTS....

Your Signature Themes Many years of research conducted by The Gallup Organization suggest that the most effective people are those who understand their strengths and behaviors. These people are best able to develop strategies to meet and exceed the demands of their daily lives, their careers, and their families. A review of the knowledge and skills you have acquired can provide a basic sense of your abilities, but an awareness and understanding of your natural talents will provide true insight into the core reasons behind your consistent successes. Your Signature Themes report presents your five most dominant themes of talent, in the rank order revealed by your responses to StrengthsFinder. Of the 34 themes measured, these are your "top five." Your Signature Themes are very important in maximizing the talents that lead to your successes. By focusing on your Signature Themes, separately and in combination, you can identify your talents, build them into strengths, and enjoy personal and career success through consistent, near-perfect performance.

Strategic
The Strategic theme enables you to sort through the clutter and find the best route. It is not a skill that can be taught. It is a distinct way of thinking, a special perspective on the world at large. This perspective allows you to see patterns where others simply see complexity. Mindful of these patterns, you play out alternative scenarios, always asking, "What if this happened? Okay, well what if this happened?" This recurring question helps you see around the next corner. There you can evaluate accurately the potential obstacles. Guided by where you see each path leading, you start to make selections. You discard the paths that lead nowhere. You discard the paths that lead straight into resistance. You discard the paths that lead into a fog of confusion. You cull and make selections until you arrive at the chosen path—your strategy. Armed with your strategy, you strike forward. This is your Strategic theme at work: "What if?" Select. Strike.

Communication
You like to explain, to describe, to host, to speak in public, and to write. This is your Communication theme at work. Ideas are a dry beginning. Events are static. You feel a need to bring them to life, to energize them, to make them exciting and vivid. And so you turn events into stories and practice telling them. You take the dry idea and enliven it with images and examples and metaphors. You believe that most people have a very short attention span. They are bombarded by information, but very little of it survives. You want your information—whether an idea, an event, a product's features and benefits, a discovery, or a lesson—to survive. You want to divert their attention toward you and then capture it, lock it in. This is what drives your hunt for the perfect phrase. This is what draws you toward dramatic words and powerful word combinations. This is why people like to listen to you. Your word pictures pique their interest, sharpen their world, and inspire them to act.

Activator
"When can we start?" This is a recurring question in your life. You are impatient for action. You may concede that analysis has its uses or that debate and discussion can occasionally yield some valuable insights, but deep down you know that only action is real. Only action can make things happen. Only action leads to performance. Once a decision is made, you cannot not act. Others may worry that "there are still some things we don't know," but this doesn't seem to slow you. If the decision has been made to go across town, you know that the fastest way to get there is to go stoplight to stoplight. You are not going to sit around waiting until all the lights have turned green. Besides, in your view, action and thinking are not opposites. In fact, guided by your Activator theme, you believe that action is the best device for learning. You make a decision, you take action, you look at the result, and you learn. This learning informs your next action and your next. How can you grow if you have nothing to react to? Well, you believe you can't. You must put yourself out there. You must take the next step. It is the only way to keep your thinking fresh and informed. The bottom line is this: You know you will be judged not by what you say, not by what you think, but by what you get done. This does not frighten you. It pleases you.

Woo
Woo stands for winning others over. You enjoy the challenge of meeting new people and getting them to like you. Strangers are rarely intimidating to you. On the contrary, strangers can be energizing. You are drawn to them. You want to learn their names, ask them questions, and find some area of common interest so that you can strike up a conversation and build rapport. Some people shy away from starting up conversations because they worry about running out of things to say. You don't. Not only are you rarely at a loss for words; you actually enjoy initiating with strangers because you derive satisfaction from breaking the ice and making a connection. Once that connection is made, you are quite happy to wrap it up and move on. There are new people to meet, new rooms to work, new crowds to mingle in. In your world there are no strangers, only friends you haven't met yet—lots of them.

Achiever
Your Achiever theme helps explain your drive. Achiever describes a constant need for achievement. You feel as if every day starts at zero. By the end of the day you must achieve something tangible in order to feel good about yourself. And by "every day" you mean every single day—workdays, weekends, vacations. No matter how much you may feel you deserve a day of rest, if the day passes without some form of achievement, no matter how small, you will feel dissatisfied. You have an internal fire burning inside you. It pushes you to do more, to achieve more. After each accomplishment is reached, the fire dwindles for a moment, but very soon it rekindles itself, forcing you toward the next accomplishment. Your relentless need for achievement might not be logical. It might not even be focused. But it will always be with you. As an Achiever you must learn to live with this whisper of discontent. It does have its benefits. It brings you the energy you need to work long hours without burning out. It is the jolt you can always count on to get you started on new tasks, new challenges. It is the power supply that causes you to set the pace and define the levels of productivity for your work group. It is the theme that keeps you moving.

HMMMM. INTERESTING. SO DO YOU GUYS AGREE? BUT REALLY THOUGH, I BELIEVE MY GREATEST STRENGTH, IT'S FOUND IN JESUS THROUGH WHOM I CAN DO ALL THINGS(Phil.4:13)! :D

2009 was Fine! :D

Kinda late in posting this, but I just had to make my end of the year blog post to recap the previous year. It was the year...

1. Alot of Bad Stuff Happened

...Alot of people died Francis M, Michael Jackson, Corey Aquino, Brittany Murphy etc. Also a friend of mine named Eren in a motorcycle accident(this became one the longest darkest saddest day of the year)

...Botolan was flooded went here myself with my dad on a short & instant mission trip to try to help out. But soon, we found our area suffering the same thing

...Typhoon Ondoy & Peping Hit though me & my family weren't really affected because we live on the hillside, alot of our friends & other people were affected. One of our churches in Baguio was hit hard & many of it's members died in that landslide. There a lot of these disasters this year. Boy, was it stormy or what

...I wish I could've saved more money There was that recession at the beggining of the year. Tapos ang gastos ko pa rin. Tsk tsk. Especially on food(sarap eh). So my savings weren't ok. Still, I was & still faithful in my giving to God(which explains why I'm not completely broke). I'm gonna really save all I can in 2010 & it's also a good thing I got help this time.

...Friendster died and Facebook just totally took over!

...Broke Up with girfriend of a year
Peggie Sue Pascuafl(PSP). But someone made up for it & me & Peggy remain close friends :pf

...Waiting was a killer Phewww! For a while, I had to hold back before the right time of being able to make a move on love. But it was definitely worth it. God & I both know how hard I waited(though 'chismis' might have said otherwise)

2. Alot of Good Things Happened

...Pacman & Efren Win it for the country one totally punched out other fighters in the ring, getting more title belts than anyone, the other pushed carts so many poor children would be educated. Thanks also to Efren, we now know there's a CNN Hero of the Year award

...Great Concerts & Events I got to be part of(Delirious, Planetshakers atbp.) Just to name a few plus getting to meet, hang out & interview some of them of course

...I turned 12 years Christian(5-22-09)
so that translates 11 years of no smoking, sex, drugs, alcohol, violence plus no backsliding.

...Went to Palawan for the 1st time I got invited on an all expense paid trip just to judge a battle of the bands. Went there on a Friday morning & got back the next. My favorite part was going to the croc farm.

...We had Gary V. over at Church for our Youth Anniv as special guest speaker & performer. Whatta dream!

...I had such an amazing & loooong Summer!!! just click & read all about it in my post

...I finally found my special someone & now I'm so happily & cheesingly in love! After a long time of praying & waiting. 4 years of the single reign finally ends as she became mine in 2009! She has got to be the biggest blessing I have received this year. I Love You Ricci Luna!

...Finally went to Boracay! Our young adults group went for our outing. My family was there & so was my new girlfriend. It became like our launch because it was the first we really went public

...Went to Laoag Ilocus for the 1st time. This was for the Dapat Karapat Dapat Campaign at the University there. Went there with the Media Pillar team. It was the year I got to see a lot of our country!

...I received more speaking engagements this year especially summer camps. Thanks to all who invited.

...I met alot of cool new people and friends you guys know who you are ; )

...I had the Best Birthday We actually had a lot of celebrations that day. First up was our Church Anniversarry then Pacman winning the fight. Somewhere in there, my celebration w/c included a lunch date with family, a nice surprise at the Radio Station, a massage, dinner at Dampa & a movie.

...had the best Christmas! :D

...and more!!!

Twenty-o-nine had it's roller coaster share of ups & downs but overall, I say Blessed be the Name of the Lord! Radio & Youth ministry has been great & ongoing. Since I also had the best summer, best birthday, best Christmas in this one, I can say this has been the best year of my life yet. Glory to God for everything. It's gonna be pretty tough to top this one as I say every year. 2009 was indeed fine thank God! Can't wait to see what's next for me in this one. I'm ready to take on another new year. I may not completely know what's gonna happen, if my plans will work, if there will be bigger problems or challenges ahead, but all I know is I'm sticking with my God who loves me & has great plans ahead, even better than mine!(Proverbs 16:3)

...and this year's slogan is:
"YES I CAN...in 2010!"(Phil.4:13)

The Best Birthday I Ever Had! :D

Wow, that day was sure awesome! It was the first time I had it on a Sunday that I could remember. When people used to ask me what I did on my day, I didn't really have much to say because I never really did as much as this to talk about. Kinda sad cause looking back now, I don't really remember much the past years. But today I & it felt really special & one that I could have fun sharing or blogging about. Well there were just tons of reasons that made this a real special one. I wasn't celebrating it alone & what I mean to say by that aside having a special someone this time, was there where a lot of other happenings I also rejoiced with. Our Church Anniversary for one. My home Church, Taytay First Church of the Nazarene celebrated 31 years. I had the privilege of directing the program & it turned out pretty well thank God. Then just the day before, we had our district sportfest(interchurch) where me & my boys won the basketball championship. We were so happy for that because we put up a good fight in those games. Congratz team GenCon!

So after the church celebration on Sunday morning, I headed out with the family for lunch.(That's me & my family plus my girlfriend & her parents.) Wanted to go for Dencio's at Metrowalk but it turns out, the place was fully booked due to Manny's fight. So we ended up going to Iceberg's. Usually I can't do this sorta thing on a Sunday because my radio program Against the Flow is on at 1pm. But I thought of using a birthday leave for the 1st time or maybe just show up late since it's pretty much taken care of. But right when the sisig I ordered arrived in front of me, my girl all of a sudden drags me outta there because she said a guest/someone was waiting for me at the station. So we leave the family there & right when I got to the station, I saw what I expected, my crew all there & greeting me. At first, I wasn't a bit surprised. I saw there was food & a new ATF tarp. It was really sweet of them really(thanks sidekicks). When I went inside the booth, the greetings from other people started pouring in & then I became like the special guest on my own show. It was sorta nice being the one interviewed for a change. I saw that there were some additional mics & equipment set up there but thought maybe it's for later or maybe we had a surprise guest but couldn't really think of who. Then all of a sudden, a cool friend named Yeng Constantino appeared to greet me & sing some songs. I was like, "what are you doing here? Isn't there ASAP?" It turns out there was none today because of the Big Fight. So thanks to that I get surprises like this. I was originally planning to invite Yeng to church today for the anniv but figured she couldn't because she had that to be on that show. So anyhow, I got another surprise when my radio parents, Ron. T & Jaedee gave me a call. I'm talking to them on air when all of a sudden they appear behind me! This too was special because it was also the first time they visited me since they resigned from NU, leaving to me the program they started. This ATF special went great with Yeng's live performance, music & people greeting. I felt so overwhelmed, almost teary eyed! Since I'm good at surprises, I thought it would be hard to surprise me. but today, I was efinitely proven wrong cause they got me. In case you missed it like the others glued on their TVs, you may catch this episode on podcast soon on goagainsttheflow.multiply.
com I also took a leave to be a guest on my other program which you could catch on www.perfectrhythm.fm

After the program, headed back to the resto to finish lunch with the fam. They were already finishing up with desert. Soon, we learned of Pacman's victory & that added to the joy that day. After this, headed back town, got to watch a few more rounds on the delayed TV broadcast. Since my body still sorta ached from yesterday, it was really cool to go get a nice whole body massage later. Then met up with our youth leaders for a little dinner mtg at Dampa in Libis.

After dinner, we headed to Robinson's Galleria to catch the last full show of the end of the world movie 2012. Just a thought, I'm so happy today that even if the world were to end soon just like in the movie, I'd be so ready & happy to die like this because I am just feeling that complete. But of course, I still got a mission to get others ready like me.

So what did I get on my birthday? This very beautiful day filled with surprises, our Church Anniv, a title for our b-ball team, Pacman's historic win, a massage, good food, nice new basketball shoes, a cool movie atbp. & most of all people I love. My lady also gave me this cute green hat that I wanted that had John 3:16 on it.(THANKS RICCI. I LOVE YOU!) With so much blessings in my life, I couldn't really ask for more.

Well that wrapped up a pretty long day. Every single greeting to me is means so much so thanks to all who greeted & all those happy with me that God blessed me with this life.(esp. those I tagged & there weren't enough tags) I'm so happy to be born & share this gift with you guys. Thank you God, for being everything to me & supplying me with everything I need to go on. This was one sweet fine memorable day. The best I've ever had or at least for now. God knows I needed that because I was sure encouraged, refreshed & more charged up to keep living to the fullest! Glory be to my Lord Jesus for this blessed life! :D

"We're A Dying Breed"

To every guy that has said, "You're beautiful."

To every guy that has said, "Sex CAN wait."

To every guy that was never too busy to drive across town to see her.

To every guy that gives flowers and a card.

To every guy who has given her flowers just because.

To every guy that said he would die for her.

To every guy that really would.

To every guy that did what she wanted to do.

To every guy that cried in front of her.

To every guy that she cried in front of.

To every guy that holds hands with her.

To every guy that hugs her when she's sad.

To every guy that hugs her for no reason at all.

To every guy who would give their jacket up for her.

To every guy that calls(or texts) to make sure she got home safe.

To every guy that would sit and wait for her for hours just to see her for ten minutes.

To every guy that would give his seat up.

To every guy that just wants to cuddle.

To every guy that reassured her that she was beautiful no matter what.

To every guy who told his secrets to her.

To every guy that tried to show how much he cared through every word and every breath.

To every guy that thought maybe this could be the one.

To every guy that believed in her dreams.

To every guy that would have done anything so she could achieve them.

To every guy that never laughed at her when she told him her dreams.

To every guy that walked her to her house.

To every guy that gave his heart.

To every guy who prays that she is happy even if he is not with her.

To every guy who is willing to wait for years just to prove his love for her.

To every guy who still prioritizes God instead of making the girl as the sun of his life.

...This one bulletin post is for you...

Not many girls appreciate nice guys anymore... And because of this, there are not many left out there... I guarantee 90% of the men on your page will not repost this because they care more about their image.
